First aid training teaches you the critical skills needed to provide the proper treatment to an emergency case before the medical team arrives.

A basic first aid training course covers the following topics.

  • Burns
  • Soft tissue injuries

You will be ready to provide first aid care once you complete the first aid training. You will also earn a certificate for the course.

There are also advanced first aid training to cater to specific activities or workplace requirements. Here are some of these specialized trainings.

  • Marine First Aid – This course is for lifeguards, rescue divers, and mariners so that they can respond to water-related emergencies.
  • Battlefield First Aid – This course is for treating wounded people during armed conflicts.
  • Wilderness First Aid – This course if for emergency responders who are first on the ground when an emergency in the wilderness takes place. This course is essential because it may take hours or days before medical help can come due to the rough terrain.

Please remember that learning first aid is a continuous process. It will be beneficial to attend refresher courses to brush up your skills and learn innovation in first aid treatment.
